Therapeutic Exposure & Acceptance

Where Change Begins

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in the treatment of OCD, PTSD/trauma, anxiety, and other related mental health challenges. My approach combines evidence-based behavioral methods with a compassionate, human-centered perspective. I offer a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where we will work together to address the struggles you are facing and help you move towards living a life that aligns with what is important to you and the type of future you want for yourself.

Therapeutic Approach

My primary tools for treatment include Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy; these therapies are highly effective for managing OCD, social anxiety, general anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, and trauma-related difficulties. I also bring in elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Logo Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Habit Reversal Training (HRT) to offer a well-rounded, personalized approach to treatment. During our sessions, we will be getting into the usual therapy stuff like processing and exploring AND we will also be doing; proving to your brain through behavioral practice that you can do things differently and overcome what has been holding you back from living the way you want.

In addition to specializing in OCD, anxieties, and trauma, I have experience helping people with depression, hoarding, tics, and body-focused repetitive behaviors (i.e. skin picking, hair pulling, nail biting). There is no one-size fits all; we will work together to find the best approach for your needs.

Education

I place great importance on helping you understand what is happening in your mind and body, and why these approaches are effective. Education is a key part of our work together because when you can see how and why certain behaviors, thoughts, or emotions arise, you can begin to not just learn how to manage these experiences, but find compassion for yourself in the process as well. Understanding the science behind your struggles gives you the tools to make lasting changes and feel empowered in the process.

How We Work Together

I believe that therapy should be collaborative, genuine, and respectful. I’m bringing my authentic self to our sessions; this means getting serious when we need to, encouraging you to challenge yourself, and bringing in elements of humor when appropriate. I take a humanistic and systems-based approach, which means that I view your struggles within the context of your specific life, environments, and relationships, and I respect the complexity of your experiences. Together, we’ll learn about and explore what is behind the things that are impacting you and build our path, one step at a time, towards living a life more aligned with your needs and values, whatever that looks like for you.

Therapeutic Table Top Role-Playing Games

In addition to behavioral and traditional therapy, I’m also trained in the Game to Grow Therapeutic TT-RPG method, which allows me to run group-based therapeutic table top role-playing game sessions. These group sessions are an engaging and creative way to process emotional challenges and build skills while participating in a collaborative, supportive community.
